Heather Poe is a mother of two, is celebrating 21 years of marriage with her love, and is a business owner.
On this episode, Heather is getting REAL about things we rarely talk openly about. Heather talks honestly about a time when she and her husband were looking outside of their marriage and how Jesus saved them from what felt like a hopeless situation. She shares about losing her mother, how the grief felt overwhelming, and believing the lie that her “stuff” was too much. Heather talks about how her desire to not burden anyone led to feeling like suicide was the only option.
Heather’s story is packed with hard things, BUT JESUS. Because of Jesus, Heather is here today talking about a redeemed marriage that is thriving because of Jesus. Heather shares how God used her best friend to save her from ending her life and how she and that same friend carry each other’s burdens. The honesty and authenticity in the way Heather shares her story is refreshing and she credits it all to the goodness of Jesus. Heather reminds us that the truth in God’s word is what combats the lies we believe, that there is freedom in letting go of the shame we carry, and that even in hard things, God is still good.

Evelyn Chavira is a mother of two, engaged to her love, and works in the medical field.
On this episode, Evelyn bravely shares her experience with Postpartum Depression. She describes what it has looked like for her in her day-to-day, how it has impacted her relationships, and how she is working to dive into community to make sure she isn’t coping alone.
This conversation with Evelyn is by no means meant to be a complete representation of PPD, as we know people experience it in different ways. However, we do hope her bravery in sharing her experience will open the door for more women to be able to talk about it and seek help if they are struggling. Evelyn’s goal is to help women remember they are not alone in this, because she knows the personal struggle of feeling like it was her fault or that something was wrong with her. If you are struggling with PPD we hope you will seek help, and if you love someone who is struggling with PPD we hope this encourages you to love them well.

Raegan Alvarez continues in the family business of investing in the next generation as a teacher.
On this episode, Raegan shares the heartbreaking story of finding out her dad was terminally ill. She details the journey she walked with her family in the short time between finding out their new reality and saying goodbye to her best friend.
This conversation with Raegan is a tough one, but it is a necessary one. Raegan talks about feeling like her prayers were not answered and wondering how God could give them such a heavy burden, which is a feeling most can relate to whether through the loss of a family member or some other devastating situation. But, Raegan reminds us of the goodness of God even in hard times and how He is so sweet to give us reminders that he sees us. This episode is an encouragement for those grieving, that you are not alone and for those walking through hard things that you can make it through. Raegan’s story is also a gentle nudge to love your people well and to lead a life filled with joy, just like her daddy.

Lena Malone is a JOY. She is an enneagram 7, she’s all about fun and her smile is so contagious. She is a teacher and very active at her church, NorthChurch.
On this episode, Lena is talking about her struggle with identity growing up as one of the only minorities in her area. The conversation on identity continues as we talk about what it looks like to be single, and the expectations of others. We talk about how society defines success for women and the way we base our identities on things other than Jesus.
This conversation with Lena is a great one for everyone, single or not. She talks about being in any season of waiting, and choosing to really LIVE rather than waiting for that “thing” to make life worthwhile or make you worthy. She talks about the choice to base her identity on who Jesus says she is rather than her marital status.
